The clock is ticking on TikTok after its appeal to overturn a law in the United States that would see it either sold off or banned was rejected by the Court of Appeal.
The social media giant had appealed the proposed ban on the grounds it would limit the free speech of its 170 million users in the US – but the court rejected that assertion reiterating that the policy to ban TikTok unless it was sold from its owners Bytedance (which has links to the Chinese state) had achieved bipartisan support across Congress.
