One mobile provider on its mission to ‘lift the telecoms industry up’
Honest Mobile, the UK’s first B Corp mobile network, wants to inspire its rivals to think differently, while acknowledging change can be a “slow moving beast”.
Honest Mobile is on a mission to become the ultimate “disruptor” in the telecommunications industry.
Started by schoolfriends Andy Aitken and Josh Mihill after a session complaining about their mobile networks in the pub five years ago, Honest is a B Corp mobile network which promises not to hike prices for users. The concept appears to be resonating, with the business achieving 100% year-on-year growth since its launch in 2019.
“The mission was to build the best mobile network for people and the planet” explains head of brand Sophia King. “We do things differently to the big networks by rewarding loyalty with bills that drop every month, providing customer support in seconds and shrinking the carbon footprint by being the first B Corp mobile network in the UK.”
The company’s brand refresh, led by King and carried out in partnership with agency DMG, was based on customer research which revealed the firm’s identity didn’t reflect how it aimed to be seen in the market.
