Marketing team restructures at three-year high
Over half of marketing teams have restructured over the past 12 months, rising to almost 70% within large businesses.
Uncertainty across the wider business environment is having a major impact on the state of marketing teams.
More than half (55.3%) of the over 3,500 respondents to Marketing Week’s exclusive 2025 Career & Salary Survey work in teams that have restructured over the past 12 months. This is up 10 percentage points on 2024 levels (46.5%) and a significant increase on the number of restructures reported in 2023 (41.1%). Indeed, the prevalence of restructures is at its highest since 2022 (56.5%).
Looking at the data by size of company, 67.2% of marketers working within large companies (250 employees and over) are in a team which has restructured over the past year. The data reveals marketing team restructures within large firms are at a far higher level than within SMEs (40.7%).
