Finance is often offered when marketers consider who they need to forge relationships with. Or improve relationships with. There is a lot of hand wringing, and occasional navel gazing, about how to build trust and empathy. It’s a live and important topic – see Grace Kite’s latest, very good column – because it remains far from perfect, with responsibility for driving the necessary improvement generally accepted as resting with marketers.
