‘Challenged to take action’: Co-op launches inclusivity campaign in response to member requests

The Co-op is launching a campaign as part of its recently launched ‘Owned By You. Right By You’ brand platform to promote diversity and unity across UK communities against backdrop of civil unrest.

When the UK was stormed by anti-immigration riots at the end of July, colleagues across the Co-op asked the company to take a stance. Its new campaign titled ‘Hate Divides Communities. Co-operation Builds Them’ is the business’s response to the violence and racist rhetoric.

It launches today (23 September) to mark National Inclusion Week and aims to “champion communities and the diversity that makes them special”, Kenyatte Nelson, Co-op’s chief membership and customer officer, tells Marketing Week.
