From ‘diamond’ teams to great reshuffles: How is marketing recruitment shaping up in 2025?

While 2024 was tough for marketing jobs, some green shoots did emerge. What does 2025 have in store?  

Permanent job vacancies in the UK have shrunk at the fastest rate in four years, according to new data from KPMG and the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC).  

The job market in 2024 was a slow one, with December rounding off 14 months of reported decline in overall vacancies.  

For marketing jobs specifically, it was a market of confusion and difficulty for many last year. For out of work senior marketers, roles felt few and far between. At graduate and entry level many reported a lack of hiring intention. Job processes got longer, interviews more complicated and salaries were lowballed when offered.  

So, what does 2025 have in store?
