Asset management business Vanguard admits financial services are “notoriously not trusted”, but it is on a mission to reverse this perception as it believes improving the industry will help elevate its position within it.

Financial services are rarely top of the list when it comes to trust. Along with estate agents and journalists, financial firms often fall towards the lower end of any ranking, with the financial crash, the mis-selling of PPI, hidden fees and the general feeling they put profit above all else all contributing to their low standing.
